Zack, a native of the Louisville area, began his culinary career at an early age by helping his family in their home kitchen. At 14, he took his first position in a restaurant and has since worked throughout the greater Louisville area. After studying culinary arts in high school, Zack went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Sullivan University with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.
His employment ventures have included some of the areas best destinations including Covered Bridge Country Club, The English Grill at the Brown Hotel, and Gary’s on Spring. At the young age of 23, he landed his first Executive Chef position at New Albany’s Café 27. In July of 2016, Zack teamed up with Fernando Martinez, the owner of OLE Hospitality group (Oh Let’s Eat!), to accentuate Mercato Italiano Trattoria, a previously owned OLE restaurant.
In 2017, Zack earned the role of Corporate Executive Chef for the OLE Group to focus on overseeing all kitchen operations for 8 restaurants and bars, including Taco Luchador, Guacamole, Artesano Tapas, and Steak & Bourbon.
His passion for food is evident in the menus he creates as he sources local ingredients and provides seasonal options to highlight the best flavors possible. Always striving for perfection, Zack challenges himself daily to provide guests with a unique dining experience that leaves a lasting impression.
